The Moon Lodge
Traditionally, women would retreat monthly to what was called a Moon Lodge.
This was understood as a sacred practice in which women would honour their connection with the Earth by taking time to rest and replenish themselves before returning to their duties as wives and mothers.
As extensions of Mother Earth herself, the female body was honoured for all that she could create and give to her people. It was deeply understood that like the Earth, women could not give and care for anybody if they themselves were depleted.
And so they entered the Moon Lodge to rest and restore themselves through the sanctity of sisterhood.
We will sit in sacred circle in our beautiful Grandmother Moon Lodge as a symbolic return and remembrance of this beautiful Ancestral practice.
