  • Sanctuarium Sutton is more than a retreat center—it is a dream that has taken root, shaped by time, intuition, and a lifelong pull toward creating a space of healing and connection.

It all began when I was 15 years old, sitting in a classroom, in what was technically a religion class but, in reality, was something much deeper. My teacher—an unofficial Buddhist meditation coach—guided us through my first visualization, and what I saw changed the course of my life.

In my mind’s eye, I stood in a vast, mountainous landscape with red clay earth, looking westward toward a faraway ocean. Scattered stone circles lay intentionally placed, and a simple yet grounded stone home nestled into the hillside. The land felt alive—dirt roads wove through it, dirt bikes passed by, and at its heart, large circular and dome-like sanctuaries stood, inviting people in.

I didn’t yet know what the vocation of this place would be, but I knew one thing: it would attract the right people—the “good people.” The seekers, the artists, the community builders, the healers, the ones who longed for something deeper.

For the past 20 years, I have carried this vision with me, watching it evolve as I did. I called it many things—a wellness space, a retreat center, a community hub, an artist’s residency—but at its core, it was always the same: a place to gather, to heal, and to create something meaningful together.

  • Over the years, I followed my intuition and curiosity, learning and collecting the skills I knew would bring me closer to this vision. I immersed myself in natural building, geobiology, sanctuary design, and facilitation, understanding how space itself could become a living sanctuary for those who entered.

Then, in 2019, a pivotal moment arrived. I was invited to be part of a team working on a large retreat center and community space in upstate New York called True North. It was an immersion into communal living, deep property management, and the delicate balance of creating a space that fosters both individuality and togetherness.

When the pandemic struck, the world changed, and so did my path. I felt an undeniable call to return home—to my native land, my family, my roots. I returned to Sutton, Quebec, to hunker down, listen, and tend to the land. This place had always been my sanctuary, a landscape etched into my being—one where I had roamed its winding roads, meandering through towns, forests, and mountains by foot, horseback, motorcycle, and van, each journey deepening my connection to the land.

For the next three years, I listened.

I experimented with different community models, welcomed gatherings, and let the land reveal what it wanted to become. I watched how people moved through it, what they sought here, and how it responded to them. Through this deep listening, Sanctuarium Sutton began to take form.

  • In 2023, the vision finally became reality.

Sanctuarium Sutton is a place where we come together—to heal, to connect, to sit in circle, to be uplifted by the space itself. It is a retreat center, but it is also a living, breathing sanctuary, shaped by the people who pass through it.

Just minutes from the village of Sutton & Mont Sutton ski slopes, Sanctuarium is nestled in the heart of nature, offering:

    • A cozy, stylish retreat space with dormitory-style accommodations (12 twin XL beds)

    • A swimmable pond & private forest trails winding through our 8-acre landscape

    • Breathtaking mountain views from our stone fireplace

    • A Mongolian yurt, dedicated to ceremonies, intentional circles, and community gatherings

    • Proximity to vineyards, a third-wave coffee shop, and Sutton’s artistic & natural beauty

It is a soft landing space for those in need of nature, connection, and belonging. A space where those seeking something deeper will always find their way home.

Because this isn’t just a retreat center.

It’s a dream made real. A vision that has traveled through time, waiting for the right moment to unfold.

    And now, it’s here.

    Welcome to Sanctuarium Sutton.
